Guachinche El Cordero
El Cordero in San Miguel de Abona is one of the best-known and most reviewed restaurants in southern Tenerife. Although it carries the name guachinche, it is more of a large, well-organised restaurant with the charm of traditional Canarian home cooking.
What you get
Specialities are grilled meats: lamb, chicken, ribs, fillets, steaks, rabbit and mixed platters. There are also Canarian starters such as soup, escaldón, cheese and croquetas, plus fish options and homemade desserts.
Why it is worth it
Despite its size, service is usually quick and friendly. There is a large private car park and outdoor garden areas, making it very family-friendly. Portions are generous, prices fair, and ratings are around 4.2 out of 5 stars.
